Style Check: The AI That Predicts Your Move Before You Make It

A quiz that studies you back

Every poker trainer on the market asks the same question: do you know the right play? Style Check asks the inverted one: does the AI know you?

That inversion matters because the first question has a fixed answer and the second one doesn't. A theory quiz can tell you what a solver likes. It cannot tell you that you personally talk yourself into hero calls on rivers, or that your turn aggression disappears in multiway pots. Those are the leaks that cost real money, and they only show up when something is studying your decisions, not decisions in general.

So each Style Check round is a small experiment. Nutsy commits its prediction server-side before you ever see the spot. It cannot revise after the fact, and you cannot peek. Then you answer, the way you would at the table, and both of you find out who was right.

How a round works

• The spot targets your weak cells. The daily five are picked from a map of your game, street by street and opponent type by opponent type, built from your coached hands and your past rounds.
• The prediction is already locked. It draws on your lifetime style numbers (VPIP, preflop raise rate, aggression), your own logged decisions on that street, weighing hands against the same opponent type heaviest, and your past rounds. It is told to predict what you would actually do. If the evidence says you'd make a mistake here, it predicts the mistake.
• You answer like it's real. The felt, the action so far, the villain reads, then two to four options.
• The reveal shows three things: Nutsy's guess tagged CORRECT or MISSED, the best play against that opponent type with the reasoning, and your running results for the day.

The honesty rules

A prediction feature lives or dies on whether its scoreboard can be trusted, so Style Check's accuracy stat is deliberately strict:

• When Nutsy has thin evidence (fewer than five comparable decisions of yours), the guess is marked low confidence and excluded from its accuracy record entirely. The reveal says exactly what was missing, such as "only 2 of your river decisions in cash games", and what to log to sharpen it.
• Under ten scored guesses, the app shows counts ("right 3 of 7"), never a percentage. A "0%" computed from three guesses is noise dressed up as a verdict.
• Your first twenty rounds are framed as calibration, because that is what they are.

The result is a guess-rate you can actually read: when it climbs, that is real evidence the AI has learned your game.

It plays your format

A cash-game regular and a tournament player are different animals, so Style Check refuses to blur them. It unlocks at 50 logged cash hands or 50 logged tournament hands, whichever you play, and serves spots only in formats where you have that history. A cash-only player never sees a tournament scenario. Players who log both get one format per day, in proportion to how they actually play, and tournament spots carry their stage: early, mid, or late, with the stack depths and pressure that go with it.

Why being predictable costs you money

Here is the uncomfortable part: if an AI reading your logged hands can guess your move, so can the regular two seats over who has played with you for a year. Style Check makes your predictability measurable, and then gives you two numbers that move for different reasons. Nutsy's guess-rate is the proof it is learning you. Your best-play rate is the proof you are improving. The goal is to push the second one up until the first one stops mattering.
